A real road type setting for this famous circuit with a wide spread of corners set in beautiful wooded countryside. But beware because run off areas are not huge in some places!

We cross the start finish line in 4th, just making 5th before changing down into 4th again for the right handed Old Hall. Make sure you get the apex and then drift right out wide here to get a good run down Avenue. Again you’ll just make 5th before braking downhill into the left handed Cascades taken in 4th.

Use all the road on the exit and up into 5th gear for the straight which has a left hand kink near the end taken flat in 5th once you have the feel of the car and track. Then down into 3rd for the right hand steeply banked Shell Curve. An amazing corner where it is vital to tuck the car down into the banking.

Back up into 4th as you head to the Foulston Chicane, a fairly tight left with a massive kerb to be avoided, then right and left taken in 3rd with little room for error and emphasis on making the apexes. Accelerate uphill and into 4th at Hill Top before plunging downhill and accelerating fast before braking for Knicker Brook chicane.

An interesting series of corners in this latest format. You brake down into 3rd clipping the right hand apex as you go in and then flicking left for the main part of the corner. Then it is hard on the power to pull out quickly, though being very careful not to run too wide onto the kerb which can take the splitter off on the right hand exit.

Up hill and into 4th for the climb to Clay Hill and as the road sweeps round to the left you stay left and up into 5th. Then light brakes, into 4th and turn the car into Druids, a long corner with a double apex, the second being the most important. Allow the car to drift out wide for maximum speed onto the next straight. Into 5th under the bridge and then up to one of the classic overtaking spots, the entrance to Lodge.

An amazing corner this. You brake, turn in, and then the road just falls away as you head right. A sharp 3rd gear corner which needs a tidy exit to propel you up the steep hill, left kink into 4th and back past the finish line. It’s a long lap at over 2 minutes with rarely an opportunity to rest.
